The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym is the only complete novel written by Edgar Allan Poe. The story tells the tale of young Pym, who stows away aboard a whaling ship and of what befalls him, including shipwreck, mutiny and cannibalism! While the work is a fictional tale, the portrayal of life aboard a 19th-century whaling ship is thought to be largely accurate.
